Deciduous Fruit Trees
Deciduous Fruit trees become dormant in winter and drop their leaves as opposed to evergreen Fruit Trees. E.g. Apples, Plums etcIn this Dormant state they are available in what we call “bare rooted” form, where they are dug from the field and sold/ transported in this way from Early June to late August. (We mail order/ courier right across Australia (subject to any quarantine) and all year round for potted trees.) After this, once they are bursting in to flower and leaf they cannot be sold bare and are available potted. We have several maturities of Trees ranging from 2 – 5 years old in our Advanced and semi mature trees. Even our 2 year old fruit have begun to produce fruit.
Over the years we have increased our range with many fruit trees becoming available on semi- dwarf, dwarf and miniature root systems as well as other dwarf forms . Full size trees (that can grow to 5m +) are simply not required any more as they would only have to be pruned to around 3m for fruiting and harvesting fruit and netting from birds/ animals. Most of the dwarf and semi dwarf trees bear as much fruit if not more than full sized trees anyway, without all the work. Many well known old varieties are now available this way, so you don’t have to compromise on your favourites !.
